you think you are living a life without it

at least just immediately around you

but patriarchy is not escaping you

you think you’re modern

you think you understand

you think you are immune

you are not!

when you are strong

they will want to protect you

when you are weak

they will ask you to be strong

when you cry, you cry too much

when you fight, you don’t let them talk

when you are quiet, you are not making the environment

when you are loud, you are not giving them the space

your choices are now backward
